About the designs and the designer

MDCM is the designer of the jewellery.

He is a man whose creativity is just as much a paradox as his initials.

He has his roots set deep down in the earth and this foundation gives him the strength to stretch far beyond the common and into the beauty of the universe without loosing his balance.

And balance is the main ingredient of his jewellery. A visual balance and even more a balance and harmony in the energy they radiate.

MDCM has during the last ten years helped people by balancing their chakras through healing and massage.

With this new design he has created a series of jewellery that in a subtle and effective way support us in our natural and often subconscious search for balance … only in a beautiful natural way, no fanaticism!

As the core of the design is the seven chakras this jewellery suits every one – the fact that the energy of the seven chakras is a part of the design merely adds quality to the pieces and is why they look so attractive and harmonious.

Symbols in the FERN & KORU Design

The spiral is found in all ancient cultures. In New Zealand it is known as Koru - the new shoot of the fern meaning new beginning. The Fern plays an important part in many Pacific cultures thus the Hawaiian influence in the names of this range.
The heart of this design is the seven Chakras which are represented by the beautifully facet cut gems along the stem of the fern  and embraced by the intricate koru pattern in the heart pendant.

Symbols in the STAR Design

The seven pointed star also known as the Elven Star, has been used since ancient times to heal and balance

It also represents the Pleiades known as the Seven Sisters which originates from Greek mythology, the daughters of Atlas and Pleione, they have been held sacred for thousands of years and have been given titles such as Centre of the Universe, Seat of Immortality the Home of Divinity and Matariki by Maori.

The number seven contains the power of magic and good fortune. The symbolic meaning of the number can be traced back to the Creation – seven days– and the seventh was made the holy day.

Circles and Spirals are two other symbols used in the jewellery.
The circles represent the Earth, the Moon, the Sun and the Universe - our world.
Spirals have long been associated with unfoldment, searching both inwardly and outwardly.

The Chakras have been known since ancient times as energy points in the human body. It is almost impossible to get sick if all of the seven chakras are in balance as we are then in balance with ourselves. The individual chakras resonate with the colours of the rainbow in the following order:

Base – red, Sacral – orange, Solar Plexus – yellow, Heart– green, Throat – blue Third Eye – purple, Crown – white.
